The Anahit released their single „witches & rebels” in the spring, which also marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives musically. For the song „w.i.t.c.h” on the single, they have now produced a special „Session in the Woods” video, featuring sign language interpreter Zsófia Horváth.

"I believe that music and art should be accessible to everyone without exception. It's not just about sounds, but also about feelings and messages, about togetherness and experiences.”

The Anahit began working with sign language interpreters a year ago and have since performed together on stage on numerous occasions. For example, at last year’s „5 Senses 1 Concert” event at the Akvárium Klub and at the Colours of Ostrava festival in the Czech Republic, Zsófi Horváth signed the songs. At Sencity Festival Peter Halfwerk and Jessica De Waard deaf performers, and at their most recent concert in Spain, Alicia Sanchez, a Spanish sign language interpreter joined them on stage. The involvement of sign language interpreters not only gives their music the opportunity to reach new audiences, but also adds a new dimension and colour to their performances. It was a no-brainer that Zsófi would be asked to contribute to their debut video.

Rita previously told us about the song w.i.t.c.h:

"Ever since I've been around, I feel like everywhere I go, I stand out a little bit. I'm always a little different and I think differently than everyone else. I was thinking about this the other day and I joked to myself that a few centuries ago I would have been burned at the stake for being a witch. This thought inspired musical ideas and that's how the song w.i.t.c.h was born."

This idea has informed not only the song but also the visual world of the video. The make-up in the video also refers to these witch burnings and express, that although we are different and sometimes feel like outcasts, we actually belong together. The video is both a musical and visual record of the journey the band has been on for the past year and will continue to create in the future.
